The Southwest Alabama Academy of Music has been inspiring and training talented children since 2024. We offer private lessons, group classes, and several performance opportunities every year to children 3-18 years old. All lessons and classes are taught by professional musicians. Here at Southwest Alabama Academy of Music, music isn’t just an activity, it’s a way of life.
About Dr. Silvia Rath
Meet our violin and viola teacher Dr. Silvia Rath, who has a passion for teaching children how to develop talent and skills while playing their instrument. In addition to being highly accomplished in her field, she is also energetic, positive, and caring. Dr. Rath has performed worldwide with many different ensembles and orchestras. She studied with world-renowned violinists like Elmar Oliveira and Ilya Kahler. She has a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Alabama and plays with the Mobile Symphony Orchestra, Mobile Opera Orchestra, and Pensacola Orchestra.
